  • Website: The focus of this website is to display our interest in The Volkswagen Type II, or more commonly known as the Bus, Vintage Bus, Westy, or other non-specific name or model. Specifically meant to display a list of annual events, personal experiences, and photographs for entertainment purposes only.
  • ListServ: The ListServ (http://www.buskatiers.org) is an automated email service developed to bring an undefined group of Volkswagen (VW) enthusiasts together to discuss, collaborate, share, or otherwise exchange information about The Type II VW.

  • To become a member of ‘The Buskatiers’ it is a general consensus that you have intentions of obtaining a Type II VW Bus.

  • Any Volkswagen enthusiast may inquire, join or attend a club function

  • To join the club, please subscribe to our ListServ after reading and agreeing to this disclaimer. Subscription instructions are provided following your agreement to these terms.

  • Finally, and most importantly, you must introduce yourself with a Mini-Bio about yourself. If you are sponsored by a current Buskatier, please allow that sponsor to announce your presence.

The Committee consists of the 3 original founders and authors of the club, 'The Buskatiers', and 2 additional persons chosen by the founders. These five see to the daily operations of the ListServ, the needs of the Website content, archiving information for distribution, and updating/posting new information to the website(s) as we see fit, for the good of all members and VW enthusiasts alike.

As Volkswagen enthusiasts and self-elected leaders of 'The Buskatiers' we have developed a means of communication between all members of the club. We expect that everyone can and will adhere to the policies and guidelines we have so carefully chosen for this Club. If you have any concerns about the Club, our website, the ListServ or anything related to our presence on the web, feel free to contact us.

THE COMMITTEE, OUR DNS HOST, AND THE MEMBERS OF THIS CLUB ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR PERSONAL OR PRIVATE CONTACT INFORMATION THAT IS POSTED TO THE LISTSERV. PLEASE COMMUNICATE OFF-LIST WITH PRIVATE INFORMATION.


2. Fees:


Annually or otherwise: The Buskatiers is a non-profit, un-owned club of VW Enthusiasts. It is every member’s right and prerogative to donate or offer personal time or donate item(s) or monies to the club. No individual or group of persons will benefit from the giving of donations or otherwise any donated item(s). The donation of time to assist in an event, scheduled or unscheduled, is voluntary.

Special Events: Additional consolation prizes and door gifts may be requested at large and special events. These events are normally sponsored by other organization, not affiliated with The Buskatiers.

 

3. Content Information:


Website Content: Although we are A ".com & .org" affiliated website, it is important to realize that we are not a Commercial Business nor do we offer web space or banner swapping for profit. Instead, our site acts as a venue to allow Members to offer, post, distribute, or otherwise provide information that they as the ‘Sender’ deem worthy of public display.

ListServ Content: The purpose of this ListServ is to provide a forum for discussions, exchange of ideas, requests for help, place Type II parts for sale or wanted requests and to have a place to share your experiences relating to the Type II Volkswagen. Off topic posts are are not allowed. The Committee is the final arbitrator of what is considered off topic.

The posting or forwarding of an attachment which contains, off-topic pictures, programs, off-topic files or any non-text containing message is prohibited. Please submit all attachments directly to the party for which they are intended.

The transmitting or posting of attachments for the purpose of commercial sales is prohibited and will not be tolerated. Please send attachments to individual users.

Multi-Recipient postings or forwards to the Buskatiers ListServ are prohibited. Please submit like or additional information you wish for others to view in a separate email only intended for them.
Publishing a business advertisement to the Listserv for the sole intent of mass-distribution of the established business and/or its business name is not authorized. Furthermore, the displaying of an e-signature , intentional or otherwise, to display the established business's name is unethical. All BSKA members will utilize the 4-Sale Section of www.buskatiers.com or www.buskatiers.org, to post items for sale, wanted, missing, or are otherwise available to the general public.



4. Public Domain Content


Public Information: Defined herein, "Public Information" is described as a statement or collection of information from an individual or group of individuals about any given topic or subject that is transmitted willfully by the sender to the ListServ. That information is then sent via electronic mail to the subscribers of said ListServ for the purpose of entertainment and personal knowledge alone.

Distribution: Public Information may be consolidated and distributed for archiving purposes on the Annual CD. This archive purpose is for entertainment purposes only and is by no means considered doctrine, policy, instructional, or otherwise an Official Club sanctioned learning tool. To prevent commercialization of members contributions, archived information may be collected on electronic media such as CDR, CDRW, CD-ROM, Hard Disk, and paper, hardbound book or other methods deemed necessary only by The Committee. These archives may be distributed in a not-for-profit method. The only fees authorized for collection due to the reproduction and distribution of said archived information is for: (a) reasonable shipping & handling rates chosen by the receiver. (b) Actual reproduction or purchase costs. {Purchase costs related to hard media such as CDR, CDRW, and CDROM.} (c) Any special reproduction methods as decided by the purchaser.

Information Distribution: The Committee and/or club members of ‘The Buskatiers’ are not authorized to impede, stop, or otherwise interfere with the distribution of electronic mail, posts or other forms of communication to The ListServ that are in full compliance with this agreement at the time of posting. Likewise, all information is intended to reach all registered subscribers with a valid and confirmed email address. Therefore we are not responsible for mis-sent, mis-forwarded, or otherwise LOST email that may have been intended for The ListServ and/or its members or subscribers.

Email Address Distribution: The collection, storage, searching for, or harvesting of member’s email address or personal and private information for external commercial posting is prohibited. To sell, redistribute, offer to sell or otherwise provide to Non-List Members, the email address, or other private information is prohibited. The Website Administrator or the ListServ Manager will initiate immediate removal from the ListServ, and any website content related to the offender will be removed and deleted from the Website(s) www.buskatiers.com and www.buskatiers.org. Any List-Member violating these terms will not be allowed to re-subscribe to the Buskatiers ListServ. The decision of The Committee will not be reversed, appealed or otherwise challenged in any case.

Release: Because the ListServ is an automated process, we are not responsible for lost information or attachments that are submitted for distribution through the ListServ. All posts, writings, personal experiences, or more commonly known as "Trip Reports" are given freely by the writer for entertainment purposes only. ALL forms of transmitting information through the ListServ are considered an attempt to mass-submit your comments and/or thoughts to other subscribers for the purposes of free distribution without the intent of instruction or policy.


5. Unwarranted Content


Website Content: It is our intention to provide a user-friendly and safe environment that is intended for all viewers of all ages. No indecencies, pornography, or other unwanted pictures or text will be displayed unless otherwise warned by the original sender. Any member who utilizes indecencies in their Trip Reports will provide a clause at the heading of the text or picture, which states so. Users and Listees, new or old, will be removed from the Listserv database for posting sales attachments to Listserv for the purpose of commercialization. Those seeking the opinion of a Buskatier may inquire offline to an individuals email address.

Subject Related ListServ Content: It is in the best interest of all, that we only authorize Volkswagen and Club related information to be posted to the ListServ. Please be considerate of others when posting, replying to, or otherwise submitting a new message to the Listserv. Keeping in mind that all posts to the Listserv are subject to distribution on the Annual CD. The more relative content, the better the end product.

Non-subject Related ListServ Content: Any member found to be posting non-Volkswagen or Club related posts or emails to the ListServ will be given one (1) warning after which The Committee will decide if a dismissal is necessary. The Committee reserves the right to unsubscribe, delete or otherwise remove from this service any user that is deemed to be inappropriate for this Listserv.

Businesses and Dealers: Any BSKA Member, listee, subscriber or other persons that have knowingly subscribed to the BSKA-LISTSERV, do subscribe for the sole intent of mass-emailing, spamming or otherwise to distribute the name of an established business or it's inventory, will be removed from the list immediately. Established business owners, dealers, and wholesalers or vendors are encouraged to utilize the 4-Sale Section of the BSKA Website to display the benefits of their business to the BSKA Members. The BSKA Committee will be the final arbitrator in approving 'warranted content' in an advertisement, photo, or other "business ad" before it is published to the website, www.buskatiers.com and/or www.buskatiers.org.

Website(s): www.buskatiers.com and www.buskatiers.org, the ListServ and its members are not affiliated with or sponsored by Volkswagen of America, Inc. ("VWoA"), Volkswagen AG or their authorized dealers and distributors. VWoA is a wholly owned subsidiary and exclusive U.S. importer of cars manufactured by Volkswagen AG "Volkswagen" and Audi AG.

Logo(s): Incidental use of The "VW" logo, any URL, website and all referenced terms in relation to the word(s) Volkswagen, or to the company Volkswagen or its automobiles past, present and future, as displayed within this domain, are not affiliated with nor claiming to belong to the vendor and auto maker known as Volkswagen.
